Running Training on Edge
On this page
Running is at the heart of Edge. Whether you're new to running, coming back from time off or chasing a race goal, your plan meets you where you are and builds from there.
What makes Edge running different
Your plan is built from your pace, your schedule and your goals, with sensible progression and rest where you need it. You'll know how hard to go, how far to run and how each run fits into your week.
What you'll be doing
1. Easy runs These build your aerobic base. Most of your running should feel conversational. The paces may feel slow, but easy running builds your engine, lowers injury risk and helps you recover between harder sessions.
2. Intervals and speed work Short, faster efforts with recovery build speed and make race pace feel easier. Edge tells you how fast to run each rep.
3. Long runs These build endurance for your goal distance. They're about time on feet, pacing and patience, and they progress gradually.
4. Tempo and threshold runs Running just below your limit improves your ability to hold a strong pace for longer.
How we set your paces
Your paces are based on your 5km time. You give it during setup, and you can update it at any time in Pace log on the You tab, or in your end-of-block check-in. Keep it current so easy runs stay easy and harder sessions hit the right targets.
Why running training matters
Running builds aerobic capacity, resilience and confidence, and it works even better alongside strength and HIIT.
Getting started
