Swapping a workout: Edge Playbook or build your own
Replace a workout in your plan with one from the Pro Playbook or by creating your own.
On this page
Sometimes a scheduled workout isn't right for the day. You can replace it with a ready-made session, such as one from the Edge Playbook, or build your own.
Opening Swap
- Open the workout in your plan.
- Tap Swap in the row of buttons under the workout.
A Swap Workout sheet opens with two sections: Build your own and Ready-made.
Build your own
- Strength: exercises, sets and weights.
- Run: intervals, tempo or easy.
- HIIT: circuits and conditioning.
- From photo: scan a class whiteboard and turn it into a workout.
Tap one and Edge creates a workout of that type on the same day and opens the editor so you can add movements, set targets and rename it. When you save, it replaces the original workout.
Ready-made
- Edge Playbook: sessions from Edge coaches and athletes. Search, filter by category, tap a workout to preview it, then tap Swap workout and confirm with Swap. The original workout is removed.
- Saved workout library: reuse a workout you've saved.
- Recovery & Mobility: a recovery or mobility session.
- Quick add: just the type and duration.
Adding a workout instead
To add an extra session rather than replace one, use the + button. The same Build your own and Ready-made options are there, including the Edge Playbook.
Changed your mind?
Close the sheet. Nothing changes until you confirm a swap or save a new workout.
Need more help?
To move a workout to a different day instead of replacing it, see Adjusting your workout schedule. For anything else, open Settings (the cog at the top right of the You tab) and, under General, tap Speak to a coach (or Help & support, depending on your version of the app).
