Swapping a workout in your plan
Sometimes a scheduled workout just isn't the right fit for the day. Edge lets you replace any workout in your plan with either a workout from the Pro Playbook (curated sessions from top athletes and coaches) or a custom workout you build yourself.
Opening the Swap menu
Go to the Plan tab.
Tap the workout you want to swap.
From the workout's options, choose Swap Workout. A menu will slide up titled "Swap Workout — How would you like to swap this workout?"
From here, you have two main paths: pick something from the Pro Playbook Library, or build a new workout yourself using one of the Build Your… options.
Option 1 — Swap with a Pro Playbook workout
The Pro Playbook is a library of ready-made workouts from top athletes and coaches — great if you want something tried-and-tested without having to plan it yourself.
On the Swap Workout menu, tap Pro Playbook Library.
Browse the library. You can:
Use the Search bar at the top to find a specific workout.
Tap the category filters to narrow by workout type.
Each card shows the workout title, the creator, tags, and a short description. Tap a card to open the full preview.
Review the details and the exercise list. When you're ready, tap Swap workout at the bottom.
Confirm the swap on the prompt:
Swap Workout — Are you sure you want to swap this workout? This will remove the original workout.
Tap Swap to confirm, or Cancel to go back.
The Pro Playbook workout will be added to your plan on the same day, and your original workout will be removed.
Option 2 — Build your own workout
If you'd rather design something yourself, you can create a custom workout from scratch. On the Swap Workout menu you'll see three "Build Your…" cards, one for each workout type:
Build Your Strength — for a strength session
Build Your Run — for a run
Build Your Conditioning — for a conditioning / AMRAP-style session
Tap the option that matches what you want to do. Edge will create a blank workout of that type on the correct day and drop you straight into the editor so you can customise it.
Building a Strength workout
You'll land on the workout overview screen with an empty strength workout. From here you can:
Rename the workout.
Add exercises — pick from Edge's movement library, set your target sets, reps, and loads.
Reorder or remove exercises as you build the session.
Building a Run workout
Edge creates a run workout with a single "Custom Run" block ready to edit. From the overview screen you can:
Rename the workout.
Adjust the run details — distance, duration, intervals, target pace, and notes.
Building a Conditioning workout
You'll be taken into the conditioning editor with a starter AMRAP block. From there you can:
Change the conditioning format (AMRAP, rounds, etc.).
Add movements to each section and set reps or work/rest intervals.
Rename the workout.
Once you're happy with your custom workout, save it. It will replace the original workout on that day in your plan.
Other swap options
The Swap Workout menu also includes a few shortcuts worth knowing about:
Plan manually — quickly log a planned activity (useful if you already know exactly what you want to do and don't need a full editor).
Saved Workout Library — reuse a workout you've previously saved.
Import Existing — pull in a workout from a connected integration.
Changed your mind?
You can close the Swap Workout menu at any time by tapping the x button in the top-right corner — nothing will change until you confirm a swap or save a new workout.
